There are 3 YFLM methods to start your journey. Once you’ve chosen a method, proceed by booking your consultation.

CHOOSE YOUR METHOD:

1. Comb Coils

This technique involves sectioning the hair and using the fine teeth of a comb to twist the hair into a tight coil. This is the most traditional method to start your locs.

2. Partial Instant

This method speeds up the budding phase of your starter locs by interlocking the roots. This can be done with either two strand twists or comb coils- the most popular being the first of the two:

  • Two-strand twists and interlocked roots

  • Comb coils with interlocked roots

3. Instant Locs

This technique can be used on all hair types, but is mandatory for anyone who has straight or wavy hair. Our stylist will use a small crochet hook to loc your hair from root to tip to “instantly” give you mature locs in one sitting.
