There are 3 YFLM methods to start your Loc journey.

Step 1: CHOOSE A METHOD

Step 2: BOOK YOUR CONSULTATION

1. Comb Coils

This is the most traditional method to start your locs.

To start locs with comb coils, you only need about 2-3 inches of hair. This technique involves sectioning the hair and using a comb to twist the hair into a tight coil.

2. Partial Instant

This method speeds up the budding phase of your starter locs by interlocking the roots.

This can be done with either two strand twists or comb coils

  • Two-strand twists and interlocked roots (most popular)

  • Comb coils with interlocked roots

3. Instant Locs

This technique can be used on all hair types, but is mandatory for anyone who has straight or wavy hair.

Our stylist will use a small crochet hook to loc your hair from root to tip to “instantly” give you mature locs in one sitting.
